Living Planet Symposium 2016
9 - 13 May, 2016
Prague, Czech Republic
STARS will be present at the fifth Living Planet Symposium (LPS) organized by the European Space Agency in Prague (9-13 May).
The LPS is becoming one of the biggest Earth observation conferences in the world. This year a new record of 2700 abstracts were submitted and the organizers expect that about 3000 scientists and users from all over the world will attend the symposium.
The ITC and West African STARS teams submitted an abstract based on the mapping party that took place at ITC last year. This abstract, which dealt with the interesting problem of mapping smallholder fields using crowdsourced geoinformation, has recently been selected for an oral presentation in the citizen science session that will take place on the 11th of May. If you happen to be in Prague you are most welcome to join the presentation and the discussion!
